Geokon is an independent software development company specializing in
environmental data management systems for local authorities.
The company has its base in Copenhagen, Denmark, but services local
authorities across the world.
Our Philosophy
Our objective is to develop highly focused and functional applications
that allow environmental health professionals to manage not only their
routine work more efficiently, but also to enable them to carry out more
effective strategic analysis of environmental problems within their
areas.
We recognize that environmental health professionals work in an
industry where change occurs frequently and consequently we try to
design our systems such that they are able to rapidly adapt to these
changes. To this end we are continuously developing our systems to
ensure that they remain in line with the latest legislative and
technological developments.
We are committed to delivering a high quality service. We realize above
all, that the continuation of our success is dependent upon developing
and sustaining relationships with our clients.
To this end, we try to ensure that the services we offer provide a high
degree of flexibility for the client at all stages of the project design
and implementation. In addition to this we strive to ensure that our
support services provide the highest degree of responsiveness.
The company employs staffs who have substantial experience of working
within local authority environmental departments and consultancies.
This ensures that we are fully able to understand the needs of our
clients. We are fully aware of the current pressing requirements upon
local authorities to implement targets for e-government and Best Value
and design our systems so that they contribute to ensuring that these
targets are met.
References
The GeoEnviron system is used extensively by local authorities across
the world. Geokon provide services to approximately 75 % of the local
authorities and 50 % of county authorities in Denmark.
In USA, the environmental consultancy company
JMM Management Group
and Geokon have signed an agreement on a global partnership using
GeoEnviron in combination with JMM’s Integrated Property Management
System handling contaminated land issues.
About JMM Management Group: JMM Management Group, LLC, founded in
2002, is an environmental company focusing on asset management and
compliance solutions. JMM provides risk management tools to owners
of environmentally and regulatory challenged assets.
GeoEnviron is distributed and supported in the UK by
STM Environmental Ltd. STM
Environmental is environmental engineers with special expertise in
contaminated land data management and risk assessment. STM Environmental
provides services to around 50 local authorities in Great Britain.

Malaysia GeoEnviron is distributed and supported by
Eco Ideal Consulting
Sdn. Bhd (Eco-Ideal) is a private limited company. The company provides
a full range of integrated environmental planning and consulting
services to our private and public sector clients, including industries
and government agencies facing challenges that demand environmental
experience and technical expertise.
Eco-Ideal supports 14 State agencies and 3
municipalities in Malaysia all using GeoEnviron.
Sarawak is the largest state
in Malaysia and our largest costumer outside Europe.
The special thing about the
implementation in Sarawak is that it is shared among 14 state
agencies and 3 municipalities such that all shareholders have access
to environmental data in a common database. Included are data for
river monitoring, contaminated land, wastes and landfills, pollution
prevention control of industries and farms, EIA assessment,
licensing, and much more. Using advanced GIS integration switching
between maps and detailed data is possible with one mouse click.
